ABOUT ME

I'm the lucky owner of a gentle and mature spirit that thrives in both sillyness, and seriousness, and almost everywhere in between.

I crave being around people, and adventure, but quiet downtime is just as important. I love being the first to jump off the cliff into the river, racing to the top of the escalator, and biking down hills at night with my eyes closed. And I really like more cozy settings, like outdoor yoga, or crochetting in my rocking chair.

I'm passionate about taking care of the environment, and people. And I've found a good job that allows me to do both. Living in the US Capitol means that I'm surrounded by people who really care, and it's been an incubator for my beliefs. But this city can also leave me stressed, and tired, and annoyed by how much we talk about work. So I try my hardest to get out an adventure in my free time, and am hoping to do more international travel.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few times, though my roommates are not big fans. So unfortunately I can't be a consistent couchsurfing host.

I've couchsurfed a few times, and have really appreciated the way it transformed my trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I enjoy hosting people who wake up early, join me for breakfast, stay out all day to take advantage of their trip, join me for dinner, and then maybe find something to do together at night.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Yesterday I saw a bed of lillypads come to life as I canoed through a small tributary off the Anacostia River. Mudskippers skipped onto land and into their networks of underground tunnels, a heron perched on a low-lying tree limb, watching us with caution, and as we paddled we synced our strokes with the cacophony of frogs and crickets and cicadas, to form a swamp symphony.

LOVE THIS.

Teach: I can teach basic bike maintenance, crocheting, cello, yoga, how to coordinate events and organize people for social movements, bike rides, and where to find the best popsicles in town.

Learn: I want to learn many, many things. My grandma just gave me her sewing machine and I'd like to get comfortable with patterns. I want to learn how to can, cook and bake more, garden, code, design, work with wood, breakdance, and I know how to swim but I'd love to improve my form.
