About Me

ABOUT ME

Rightio, quick summary of me! I'm originally from Galway in the west of Ireland moved to Glasgow, Scotland to do my undergraduate degree in anthropology and sociology! I loved it. Then i took time off to go travelling and have had the travel bug ever since! However, I did go back to back to uni and completed a masters in human rights law which brought me to Australia where i now work as an anthropologist. I'm interested in meeting and learning about new people (the anthropologist in me!) and generally learning and exploring the beauty of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love couchsurfing. I've met some amazing and fabulous people through it and made friends for life. :)

Interests

music, drums, learning about people, world religions, travelling, reading, painting, eating haribo, festivals (i wish they were minus portaloos!), human rights and the environment, indigenous rights, chilling with friends and family, having a drink or two!! I want to travel everywhere, i've been told it would be easier for me to name places i don't want to go to than places i do as i'd be talking forever! :) I'd love to get to every country in the world! I love meeting people with a passion for life.

Music, Movies, and Books

hmmmm where to start.. music, i have quite eclectic taste; folk music, drum n bass/jungle, orbital, massive attack, portishead, pj harvey, patti smith, Janis joplin, david bowie, neil young, blondie, horace andy, bob marley, al green, smashing pumpkins, the doors, the frames, alabama 3, kila, king tubby, mad professor, joe cocker, jefferson aeroplane, sublime, rodrigo y gabriela, blur, faithless, arctic monkeys, florence and the machine, faith no more, the kinks, the clash, the orb, cheesy eighties music, buena vista social club, gypsy type music e.g: gogol bordello and i love dub reggae music (basically i can find something i like in nearly all genres of music except for RnB and Beyonce absolutely detest that!)

Okay movies.. I like a wide variety of movies too.. anything from girly like dirty dancing to gangster films like the godfather! Also love the departed!

I also love tv series: The wire, breaking bad, deadwood, sopranos, true blood, dexter etc etc. I can easily sit in and watch a whole series without stopping. God bless the internet, its changed the way i watch tv!! :)

And finally books, my big passion, i love reading at the moment i'm reading catcher in the rye, just finished the beach by Alex Garland. And before that i read the Kite runner by Khaled Hosseini! Since i've finished uni i've made it my mission to read as many books as i can because all i did was read academic ones whilst studying. I love "to kill a mockingbird", "lord of the flies", "pride and prejudice", "jane eyre", "animal farm", the northern lights trilogy and nearly everything by Paulo Coelho. And of course my brothers book called "Start" by Simon Brewster check it out! I also love to read books on Shamanism and world religions! I've lined up anna karenina, the master and the the margarita and crime and punishment to read next!
