ABOUT ME
Carefree. Artsy. Curious. Quirky. Restless. Silly. Operatic. Introspective. Nature loving. Music loving. Bird-like. Kind of a closet (or introverted) extrovert. I love adventure! I love traveling, exploring, and experiencing new things!
I have an ongoing love affair with Italy. I lived there for 3 months in 2013 because, frankly, I needed to. I needed a change in my life and Italy was pulling on my heart-strings... so I went!!! I wish I could have stayed longer. I lived with an Italian family as their private English tutor as part of a language/cultural exchange program, and I had the most wonderful time... And now, I'M BACK!!!!!! (Just for the summer.)
PHILOSOPHY
There is not one big cosmic meaning for all,
there is only the meaning we each give to our life,
an individual meaning, an individual plot,
like an individual novel, a book for each person. ~ Anaïs Nin
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born. ~Anaïs Nin
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While living in Italy, a friend suggested CS as the best way to travel. So, I tried it, and I loved it!! Not only did I get to see amazing places, I got to meet some awesome new people and make friends. :)
Currently, I can't offer a place to host anyone for the time being. :( I'm hoping that will change soon!

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer indie and local bands and college radio. Some genres I enjoy: opera, classical, indie, punk, 50's, 80's, swing, jazz, blues... a few faves: The Smiths, Morrissey, Shannon and the Clams, Bright Eyes, Phantogram, Beach House, Of Montreal, Neil Sedaka...
A few of my favorite authors: Oscar Wilde, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Larissa Ione, Megan Hart, Stephen King, Stephen Chbosky, Dr. Seuss...
I enjoy artsy, quirky, independent films. Comedies, foreign films, horror films, animated films, and tear inducing movies. Some faves: Harold & Maude, Amelie, Eagle vs. Shark, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, Edward Scissorhands, The Last Unicorn...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen: I come from a super artsy family. Their talent is astounding. The things they say, do, and create are the most amazing things I've seen... also, Florence, Italy. It's absolutely beautiful, and it's my favorite city in the world.
Done: There is nothing as liberating or anything quite at all like the adrenaline rush, the freedom, the fun, and the pleasure of performing onstage.
On my trip to Paris, I visited Versailles with my CS host and his friends. There, while we picnicked, I sang French opera arias to them in the gardens. It was awesome!! They and the other French folk around love it. A stranger even came up to me and left me a tip! :)
I recently went paragliding here in Italy. It was *magical!* Exhilarating, liberating, wondrous, and peaceful all at once. I finally felt like a true bird, singing and flying over the gorgeous landscape of northern Italy. I have decided that, from now on, I must do this at least once a year.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an opera singer and I love to cook. I'd be happy to entertain you by singing some opera arias and art songs(in your native language or another) or by cooking you a tasty meal! I know many delicious Mexican recipes my mother taught me. :)
