À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To live, create and enjoy the beauty of people and life.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have lived in share houses, community houses, friends family homes and currently live on my own. While I enjoy the freedom that living on my own has, I miss having people around to share in feasts, late night chats and impromptu adventures.

Centres d'intérêt

Music can almost be counted as one of my basic needs along side food and enough sleep to survive. I love seeing and dancing to live music. Creating is part of my daily experience whether this is through my art as a photographer, building upon my garden or designing inspiring objects and spaces both in my home and as part of my business.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Growing up everyone including myself thought I would be a Teacher. I started my Bachelor of Education and during this time I created a music and arts festival as a fund raiser for a blind charity. The festival grew so large I then had to make the decision to finish my degree and stop the festival or to leave uni and invest in and grow the festival. Despite some family's fear for my future and security I chose to leave uni and lived on $40 for 3 years whilst running the festival and supporting bands.

While the charity thought that I was an old lady sending them thousands of dollars each year during this time they soon discovered that I was at that time a 21 yr old living in a massive share house running the festival on my own. They employed me part time with a small wage (this seemed huge compared to the $40 I was living on) and I continued the festival for another 5 years.

Making the decision to leave uni studying the degree that I had always wanted to do in favour of doing something that I didn't really know anything about and what it meant for my future was a big one. Yet it was clear to me to make this decision because of the passion and love I held for helping others, music and the arts.
