If you are travelling, you want to meet local people as well as other travellers and backpackers. Couchsurfing gives you the chance not to be just around but to be right in the middle of the culture and life of the place you are in.

How people with nothing are often the happiest :)
Wrestling, catching crocodiles, every time. If you don't respect them, they'll get ya.
Seeing the taj mahal in India and the slums around.
Experiencing the summer olympics in Sydney, winter olympics in Canada and the football world cup in Germany. Amazing!
