About Me

I live in Espírito Santo, a small coastal state just north of Rio de Janeiro.

Traveling, surfing, and hiking keep me connected to the world.

Life is short and the world is big — so I enjoy every chance to travel. Hosting people from around the world is also a way of traveling — just without leaving home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe traveling is not only about places, but also about people. Meeting locals, sharing experiences, and exchanging stories make every trip more meaningful. For me, Couchsurfing is a way to connect with the world in a genuine way, beyond the usual tourist path.

Interests

I’ve been surfing since I was 14, and the ocean is where I feel most alive. I’ve already enjoyed surf trips to places like El Salvador and South Africa, and I dream of going even further. Now I also want to learn sailing, because one day I plan to live on a sailboat and explore the world by sea.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy inspiring books like South by Ernest Shackleton, a story of resilience and adventure.
My taste in music goes from folk and folk rock to jazz and blues.
Some favorite movies are Miracle in Cell No. 7, A Man Called Otto, Forrest Gump, and About Time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a taste of Brazilian culture and teach you how to enjoy Brazil without spending too much money and without being tricked by some Brazilians. Yes, here some Brazilians will try to trick you. We call this “malandragem.” Especially in Rio de Janeiro, where the “cariocas” are experts at it. But relax — overall, Brazil is a wonderful country and Brazilians are great hosts.

I can also introduce you to Brazilian music like samba and share stories about our traditions, food, festivals, and everyday life.
