About Me

MY LONG-LONG STORY

I was born nearby Arkhangelsk and lived there for 20 years. Then I moved to Saint-Petersburg to study and spent next 7 years in this beautiful town. I love SPB very much with his rivers, parks, the smells, embankments and very special people.

While I lived in Saint-Petersburg, I dragged four of my peers - a couple friends, a girl of my dreams and my young brother - from my hometown to the megalopolis. No one came back since then. Everyone found own way of living.

I had a motorcycle crash June 2011 with half-year long story of surgeries and rehabilitation. Now I can walk on my own and I call all this as "unique life experience". There were tons of life lessons while I was at a hospital and in a wheel-chair. Now I prefer simple attitude to life. Indeed, we need not too much to feel joy. Endless thanks to my family.

In 2013 I moved to Moscow to get a job in biggest IT-company of my country - Yandex. It was pretty cool at Moscow. I realized there that not the place or environment defines your internal world but it influences a lot. Most of my friends were in SPB still, but I moved on and there were new friends and new places. I think I realized a little better where my way lies.

After New Year 2014 I have started my bass lessons. Music gives me energy for keeping on. Music plays a great role in my life. I think I have a radio in my head. Maybe it is God?

PHILOSOPHY

I highly value my community, my family. I am trying to help people with some education and to show a new approach to their problems with dialogue and simple open questions. I appreciate a good company of live people and a live music. I prefer to stay sober and calm. I am trying to remind people about beauty and joy of everyday's life because they often forget about it. Some people may call it boring but that's fine for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For start, I hosted a couple surfers -- Matt & Ted in Moscow to try that CS thing. It was so fun to walk them around the city and talk 'bout everything that we could see around. They said that I have solid English-speaking skill - that was a revelation. I was very-very critical of it before, which was stupid as usual :)

So, I have decided to spend my next vacation in CS mode in Ireland - to see it's nature, the Ocean, the people and I did it shortly. I celebrated my 29th birthday on a train Dublin - Galway :)
I stayed with two hosts and we had good times while talking about work, relationships, attitude with different types of people, books, meals, and health.
Thanks to Emma and Alexander - these people have enriched my world very much!

Next time I grabbed my young brother and we did a Berlin-Bruges-Valencia NY holiday trip. It was valuable to get know each other even better on this road. We met new people and visited good friends of mine. Thanks to Tomas for great suggestion about Art Museum of Gent and a great story of his Armenia trip.

I've moved to Minsk now. I am ready to listen to your story.

Interests

I highly appreciate a live conversation with a live person. Let's start with one of this:
- Which good fiction book have you read recently? Do you read a fiction?
- Which movie really impressed you recently and why?

Please answer one of this if you gonna send a request to me. Just to know that you care. Thanks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like jazzy and soul tunes now, also I have a long hairy listening-to-metal-music legacy :)
Non-blockbusters for movies -- recent one is "Two days, one night" with Marion Cotillard.
In books I like Hemingway and other classics. Also I am fascinated by modern popular psychology & behaviour economic podcasts like "You are not so smart" and "Freakonomics".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived in a motorcycle crash, recovered and learned to walk again. There are lots of life-lessons from my hospitals. Endless thanks to my family.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can walk you around the city in weekends - just walk and talk about everything that you can see around.
Can teach you some web-programming with JS and Python. I do code-review for food :)
Can support music jam with jazzy bass line.
Can tell you a bunch of stories about my young brother.
Can show you some salsa steps.
Can teach you some curse words in Russian, of course :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do dishes - it is my secret hobby. No matter how many of it in your sink - I will handle it! :D

Probably I can fix your computer/phone/tablet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
