ABOUT ME

I'm kind, easygoing, open-minded, and nature-loving. I love meeting people, and I often feel that the most significant encounters/relationships I have are those that I have with newly-met people on the order of minutes, hours, or days.

Exploring beautiful places is probably my favorite thing to do, followed closely by exploring the human mind through neuroscience. I'm the owner/director of the western-most massage school on the planet (www.awarenessandbodywork.com) which integrates somatic psychology with bodywork, and in the past I lead workshops on the neuropsychology of sexuality, spirituality, and sustainable society.

I used to manage a sustainability-education bicycle tour company. I was also the Project Manager for the Kauai Food Forest project on the north shore, as well as VP of Kauai Path, which promotes smart growth principles and encourages the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities on Kauai.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a couchsurfer and a host for years.. All thru the 90s I would meet people on my travels....in cafes, on trails, on trains, anywhere, and they'd invite me to stay with them. Since moving to Hawaii, I've been meeting people online and when they arrive they stay with me and I show them around the island(s). I know both they and i would say we had an amazing time together, and we all still keep in touch with each other. I've had been wanting to figure out a way to do MORE of that, so I'm thrilled that this website exists--wish I had known about it years ago!
