About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live life and eat well.
ABOUT ME
There's me and my 7 (going on 257) year old child. I am in school for Occupational Therapy, hoping to finish in December. I grew up in NYC and CT then bolted outta there upon graduating to live in New Mexico as a tour guide for the Gila Cliff Dwelling National Park. Then I built houses for Americorps in DC for a year. A few other random adventures before settling in New Orleans. A place like non other. I place I love. And want to show everybody why I love.
PHILOSOPHY
One love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I really like CS as a method of cultural exchange. Share with me your stories and adventures of life, and I will do the same.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted more people that I have surfed with, which is great, but I would like to travel more with my mini-me in tow and show her all sorts of awesomeness.
Interests
I like exploring and doing things. Having adventures. I like listening to live music, dancing at festivals, and eating. I enjoy learning about new cultures and traditions. I'm big into geocaching.

Music, Movies, and Books
Alice in Wonderland. Murakami. HItchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Harry Potter. Hunger Games. His Dark Materials. Anything magical and adventure related.
I heart New Orleans Brass Bands. I also really like cheesy pop and even cheesier hip hop. It makes me smile. And everything 80's.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently, the most amazing thing I have done is in August of 2007 after 26 hours of intense labor I gave birth to my daughter on my bedroom floor. Having a homebirth was one of the most incredible eye opening experiences in my life. It is something I can go on and on about so I will stop before I get longwinded and out of hand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you all sorts of things about birth and breast feeding. Then I can teach you how to build a house, as I built 12 houses in a year with AmerIcorps and Habitat for Humanity. And finally, I can figure out a way for you to brush your teeth again if you've have a stroke or have Alzheimer's or are just a wee bit slow.
I want to be able to understand poetry. If you can teach me how to translate all that fluff, I'll kick my daughter out of her bed and let you crash on it. I'm a very literal person by nature. I'm pretty blunt and I mean what I say, I assume others are the same, but their not and that's why their is poetry. So I need it explained to me- so I can make sense of the world!
Also, if you speak mandarin Chinese. Actually, if you can teach/ share anything about china. My daughter, who is 5 has a awesome intrinsic interest in it and I want to foster that as much as possible.
