Hello :)

My name is Newton and I’m from Canada. I’m currently studying for a semester abroad in Germany and travelling around Europe to get to know new cultures. In the past I travelled to 11 countries across Southeast Asia and travelled to 5 countries around Europe so far.

I'm a serial entrepreneur who started a web development business and two non-profits, won a startup competition in San Francisco, worked at Asia's fastest growing food tech startup, and been to tech conferences in Singapore & Hong Kong.

My hobbies include running, playing badminton, watching basketball, and trying out new experiences (hiking, surfing, scuba diving, jet skiing). When I’m not studying, I am running my two non profits and a digital marketing business, and I help to mentor young students with post high school advice.

I love to meet new people and I hope that I’ll get a chance to meet you :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and immerse myself in new cultures! I believe the best way to get to know a culture is to talk to locals who live there, which is why I want to get to know you (and help out around your house wherever I can of course 😀)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Climbed a 3000 metre mountain in Bali, Indonesia
-Got published in an international book for two non profits that I started 4 years ago (still running today :D)
-Played competitive badminton at the national level
-Won best new idea at a tech conference in San Francisco
