ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in central California, but then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. I love the Bay Area, especially the open-minded, environmentalist attitudes there. I also lived in Europe for three years - a year and a half in Barcelona, and a year and a half in Hamburg. Though the cities are very different, each was an amazing experience in its own way. I'm truly lucky to have had the experience living in such a variety of places and getting to know more about various cultures. I'm now back in the Bay Area, living in Oakland, CA. I'm interested in improving the sustainability of cities and transportation and am currently working at a transportation planning firm in San Francisco. I love meeting new people from around the world, especially people who are open minded and environmentally conscious.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short - live it to the fullest! If I do something, I try to do it well. My friends are important to me and I try to be there for them whenever I can. I believe strongly in environmental consciousness and try to conserve resources and live as sustainably as I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met couchsurfers to go out to dinner/drinks and show them around the city. I've surfed couches in Europe, Central America and Asia, and have hosted in Oakland. Every experience was truly amazing and has reminded me of the openness and generosity possible of the human spirit. The best way to experience a new city is with people who live there and I'm glad couchsurfing has given me that opportunity. I hope to become more involved in both surfing and hosting.
