About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as much as I can until I cannot do it any more :)

ABOUT ME

You can always check out my Facebook to kinda get a sense who I am: https://www.facebook.com/nguyentuongan. Well I'd rather have someone get to know me and find out themselves about me:)Basically, I'm down-to-earth, people-pleasing, super inquisitive (so talk to me about anything that interests and fascinates you. I can be a great listener.) In a nutshell, I can be a totally different guy depending on whom I talk to and which mood I am in (I can be super shy and aloof at first place, but exciting and fun when I get to know someone better. And I can be such a party animal when I'm real drunk...) But one thing for sure, I always try to be nice as much as I can, and it will take you a while to forget me hands down. (in a positive way of course hehe)

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always respectful, polite, yet super fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the very first time in NYC from Dec 30, 2013 to January 4, 2014, and I had a blast. Since it was my first time, I did have a hard time finding a host. Yet I finally found a dope one who let me stay for 5 straight nights. He even invited me to a New Year's Eve party with his family. We had a huge dinner, drank a bunch, danced our socks off, then drank and danced till 4:30 AM. It was super fun. I didn't expect my first time surfing to turn out that cool. My NYC trip was such an eye-opener as I met tons of people from walks of life and they all have great stories to share. Plus, there were a whole bunch of first-times on my first surfing trip: first time running and laughing my ass off in a blizzard (super fun), first time spending New Year's Eve party with a Hispanic family, first time being a cheapskate (I carried my food with me so I didn't have to spend money on meals for 6 days lol), first time going to a gay club and a gay discussion group.... I had the time of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm super open-minded, so I'm for the most part open to any kind of music, movies or books that pique my interest. That said, I am a huge fan of Jazz. Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Solomon Burke... just to name a few. I am crazy about Gospel too, and I kinda jump up and down every time I listen to Gospel songs. They excite and blow my mind away :) (And I'm actually listening to them now lol)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling alone in Vietnam for a couple weeks on a "spur-of-the-moment" trip (with neither planning ahead nor booking anything. That was a stepping stone to my upcoming greater journeys :)

Also, surfing in NYC and Washington DC on my own exhilarated me. I've had the chance to do a bunch of things that I've never done before (like running and dancing in a blizzard in NYC, being such a free-loader in Georgetown University in DC. I remember heading straight to a commencement ceremony buffet as if I was a student there and grabbing yummy food. I'm not gonna do it again though, not in Georgetown University lol)

Teach, Learn, Share

I will hands down learn a bunch from my trips and different kinds of people I meet along the way as I am such an avid learner.

I have been doing Yoga for years, so I will definitely teach you some basic Yoga poses (even though I am not that physically flexible hehe). Also, I can teach you Vietnamese (trust me on this, Vietnamese will drive you nuts as it is hands down a tough one hehe). No worries though, I have a knack for explaining stuff (that's why I majored in Teaching. That explains well right? :D). Plus, even though I cook once in a blue moon, I am pretty confident in my cooking abilities. I I can whip up stunning and yummy Vietnamese dishes (Aw I feel like drooling now lol). Most of all, I will share you some insights into unique Vietnamese cultures.

PS: All is free of charge. Ain't it cool? haha ^_^
