ABOUT ME

Born in Vietnam, I've been calling Berlin home since 2006. Full-time student of Print and Media Technology, part-time daydreamer.

At first sight, people tend to think of me as an ordinary Asian girl - petite, reserved, colorless … which is so NOT me (oh well, apart from the fact I'm quite small). And here's exactly how a close friend of mine once described me: "in a nutshell: a nightmare on two feet" :D.

When meeting new people, it often takes me a little while to get used to them and finally open up. So the real me is a mixture of energetic + daredevil + curious + freedom-lover. I can be many other things but maybe sometimes, I'm just simply me, a walking contradiction :).

PHILOSOPHY

"I try, therefore I am."

The fact is I'm scared of many things, from common stuffs like insects and height, to rather abnormal things like or opening a glass door. But I like to take the risk and try things out in order to overcome the fear (or change them into dislikes). Either I succeed, or I learn something. Win-win.

I've been to some great CS meetings, met amazing people and showed some traveling CSers around. Once in April 2011, I Couchsurfed in Austria and had a learning experience. After moving out, I'll definitely start hosting soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ridden a motorbike by myself (without a driver's license) and survived the world's maddest traffic jams in VN. Visited Angkor Wat and Marina Bay. Tasted deep fried spiders and bugs. Got inked. Hitchhiked for the 1st time, solo. Sneaked into a prohibited building, went up to the top floor and got a look of an unbelievably gorgeous skyline of Berlin at night.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Basic VNese grammar and vocab. How to do karaoke like a true Asian. Basic photography skills. Summoning a pink elephant.

Learn: I want to learn everything, so feel free to bring it on. Oh, and I can't snap my fingers or whistle. Or understand a thing about politics.
