About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See Africa, Asia and Australia!

ABOUT ME

Computer person turned med student (started school Fall 2012).

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be understanding and try not to judge others (though of course I still do sometimes). I'm an atheist, but respect others' beliefs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people in Charleston and met a couple of CSers while visiting Brazil, South Africa and Hong Kong, but I'm basically new to it! If you get a chance, come to Charleston and see our beautiful city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never spent the night on anybody's couch, but I've hosted wonderful people from all over and met others for drinks.

Interests

I've loved traveling and always dreamed of traveling to Italy when I was growing up. In 2003 I finally went and that really started my love of travel.

I'm an avid reader and I'm really interested in design (though I DEFINITELY don't have an eye for it, sadly)

I'm also a huge computer nerd, which has paid off since I get to do computer work while traveling and earn a *small* living.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading: Haruki Murakami is still my favorite, but I end up alternating between fiction/nonfiction. Pulpy sci-fi is always a safe bet. I'm addicted to all my feeds in Google Reader, too.

Movies: All kinds, from the Graduate to foreign ones like the Lives of Others (great!) and Pan's Labyrinth. Pretty much anything is ok, but I'm the kind of person that looks up the IMDB rating beforehand ;-)

Music: My tastes constantly change, but Matthew Sweet, Cake and Ben Folds are three of the artists I've listened to since junior high. Nowadays it's more stuff like Four Tet, Gold Panda, the XX, Daft Punk, Deerhoof, Caribou, Radiohead

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro! I was forced into it (and never would've done it of my own accord), but it was amazing!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, United States
