About Me

Hi! My name is Nhu (let the puns begin- it's pronounced 'new') and I'm currently teaching English in Spain for six months and travelling around Europe whenever I get the chance.

I'm always up for a glass of wine and some quality conversation- of course my repertoire of Australian slang is at your disposal and I really enjoy practicing the languages I'm learning!

Back in Australia I work in a wine bar and as an English tutor whilst studying languages and law. I have a passion for cooking and reading, and love good cinema and foreign films. I'm energetic, sociable, and always looking for an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've travelled with my friends and alone on the majority of trips that I've done and have come to realise I really enjoy having company when I'm in a new place, especially to discuss the amazing things I've seen or experienced.

I love to meet new people and to learn about their lives and hear their stories, it genuinely is one of the best things about travel for me because I thrive on being around others.

I thought now would be a good time to get on to couchsurfing to meet some people who really know and love their cities and to get their perspective on life there! I'm also looking forward to hosting in future when I'm back in Australia because I also think it's a great way to get to know different people even when you're not travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A three day hike in a jungle in Laos, where we slept in tree houses.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning and constantly improving my languages is also one of my passions, so I like to pick up as much as I can when I've travelling. I can teach you English (it's been my job for the past couple of months, after all),

I've collected a couple of great recipes from my travels, so that's one thing I'm really looking forward to sharing. I'm an avid baker too, so if you have a sweet tooth and an oven, I am super keen to whip something up for you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A crowd-pleasing Lamington recipe, Vietnamese culinary delights, music, and conversation in French, Spanish, English, and Vietnamese.

But seriously, I am more than happy to share recipes and cook you some meals. I also think that I have some great travel recommendations that will come in handy for Asia and Australia, if you're interested!
