ABOUT ME
I'm a freelance travel writer and ESL teacher based in Washington, DC. I love to explore new places, and if that includes new cities and countries, even better. By day, I teach international students from all over the world and get a glimpse of their country and culture. It's very exciting when I am able to actually visit their country and discuss various experiences. In addition to traveling, I enjoy museums, visiting art galleries, trying out new eateries, learning new languages and dancing.
CURRENT MISSION
Two years ago, I was bored with my routine life, so I decided to pack up and move to Japan, a lifelong dream of mine. I spent a year teaching and soaking up the language, culture, history and peculiarities that make up this wonderful place. Now, I am on a mission to travel the world!!
Working on it 😉
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I spent a year living in Osaka, Japan where I relied on couchsurfers to show me around the city. I also met up with couchsurfers in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kobe, Japan. These experiences have opened me up to meeting new people while traveling and getting an authentic, local perspective not found in most guidebooks. I am now back in Washington, DC, and have had the opportunity to meet up with surfers and give them personal tours of DC, ranging from hyper-tourist activities (can anyone say Ben's Chili Bowl?) to local spots and tips on traveling through the city. I would love to meet more people traveling through my city as well as meet up with and be hosted by people in other countries.
