About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting ready for 3 month trip of South America
ABOUT ME
I'm 25 years old, and currently working in the National Gallery of Ireland. I have been looking forward to my trip round South America for a long time! I'm quite easy going, considerate and love visiting new places. I'm up for new experiences and having a good time!
PHILOSOPHY
Take every day at a time. Try look at the bigger picture. Appreciate what you have.
I think tolerance and being open minded is pretty important in life. When I look at things from someone else's point of view, I become more aware that its rarely black and white.
Even though my background is history, art and music. I am somewhat of a movie fanatic, and have a curiosity that can transfer into many other areas. For example, I have always loved watching nature documentaries, love learning about deep sea fish, giant squid and whales!
I also like to keep up to date on whats going on in the news, locally and internationally. I think its important that we keep aware of whats going on in the world around us. I also love to learn about the geography of different countries- like what are the states of America? or what are all the countries of Europe?
If you're a bit like me in this regard, I highly recommend sporcle.com, its a quiz website where you can test your knowledge on pretty much anything. Hope I haven't freaked anyone out with that..
Anyway.. I just want to make the most of whatever situation I'm in and that also applies to travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies by Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Stanley Kubrick, Woody Allen, Billy Wilder and Terence Malick among many many more. Music is also a mixed bag- Really like Motown- Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin etc., also indie- Florence and the Machine, Arcade Fire, White Stripes. Also the classics- Queen, The Beatles, Bowie, Dylan, Elton John , Jimi Hendrix. Partial to Hip Hop too. Recent books I've liked include The Heart of Darkness, In A Lonely Place, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen quite a bit of Europe. Aside from city breaks, I have also inter railed around Europe twice. Both times were fantastic- saw so many places and met so many people. Lots of funny stories to tell too! I would really recommend it.
Other than that, I'd like to think this trip will be my next big thing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ok, so again, I have no idea if anyone may or may not be interested in what I have learned or picked up in my 25 years, but I have a pretty decent knowledge of history, particularly Irish history (its a niche subject I know), that also goes for art and Irish art too.
Aside from that, I'm pretty good with movies but I don't like terms like 'movie buff' because that would suggest that I know it all or something, and I always have a document on my computer of 'must watch movies'. Would love to get more suggestions!
I'm alright at singing and playing the piano, but don't worry, you won't have to hear me if you don't want to!
As regards learning goes, they're so much! I'd love to learn about local histories, even like the history of a building, street or neighbourhood.
I'd love to learn about other people's experiences and their outlook. I think we all have something to learn from each other.
