Kia Ora! I'm Nic.

I was blessed to be raised in 'the land of the long white cloud' or New Zealand. Been here all my life and only ever flown as far as Aussie.
Like most kiwis, I'm a pretty laid back guy and willing to give things a good go (even if I look like a fool doing it). I love a good challenge and experiencing new things.

MY MISSION:

To enjoy learning/participating in different cultures
Travel Europe and meet as many interesting people as I can.

I am currently on a 3 month Europe trip for the 100th Anniversary of ANZAC Day and hoping to get a real glimpse of European cultures.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have heard only good things about couch surfing and want to meet/share in the lives of amazingly interesting people everywhere I go. I think couchsurfing is a truly unique way to experience other's ways of life. I would love to return the favour here in New Zealand and host those like me who step out of their comfort zones to experience something purely unique.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a lovely German couple at our flat and it was such an enjoyable experience. I am looking forward to being a surfer during my time away in Europe.

The classic stereotype of loving Rugby is definitely true for this Kiwi lad. As well as Rugby I have a deep passion for football/soccer and watch it religiously here at home.

BBQs and a good Brew (beer) are definitely a big tick in my book.

I love exploring the outdoors and sports but I also have a nerdy/geeky side and am immensely passionate about History (especially in relation to the ANZACs and the World Wars).

I really enjoy being challenged and learning new things, be it a different way of life than I'm use to or a topic I've never even considered before.

I really enjoy reading biographies and history books as I enjoying learning new things.

My nerdy side comes out in movies and Star Wars the original trilogy would be my Top movies of all time. I do love me a good action movie or comedy as well.

I would love to share a piece of New Zealand culture and I am always keen to see where conversations end up. Its beneficial to experience a range of cultures to better understand ones place in the world. I believe it is really important to have an open mind and experience new and different things.

I'm willing to help out wherever needed. Keen to share a drink and a meal with people. I just hope to bring a genuine kiwi attitude and be as open as I can be with my life during the time shared with new friends. Would love to share some classic elements of kiwi culture with all who are interested.
