ABOUT ME

CS asks how my friends would describe me? ..I'm a patient, friendly guy? Or maybe they would say he is a big jerk because they have a terrible sense of humor.

But seriously I am an easy-going and open minded guy. Love meeting new people and good conversation. I was an art student and spent some time in the Army and I love popcorn.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a bit of a humanist I suppose. I've seen humanity at its best but also at its worst. I wish we could put aside all of the differences and embrace our fellow man instead of arguing and fighting over religion, nationality or race.

I am also a firm believer in karma.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met some couch surfers during my travels and they are always fantastic people. I would love to also try hosting some folks. I think in a way its karma.. I've been shown such hospitality by other folks on here, I would love to give that positive energy back to the community.

Much easier is meeting folks and taking them out. I love to meet new people and am still new enough that I have a lot of places to explore nearby so we can explore together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only started using it while I visited London and it was a such a positive experience! Everyone was SO friendly and fun that I have decided to make the Couch Surfing a bigger part of my life. I want to pass along the kindness I was shown while I traveled in a foreign city. Honestly I could say I would love to see all of them again and I hope when I meet other CSurfers that they can say the same of me afterwards.

Interests

History, art, stimulating conversations.. good food, drinks and good company. I like to wander around exploring new places and meeting new people. Somewhere along the way I find things to entertain myself. At home I like to spend my time volunteering with a local animal shelter, getting drinks with friends and playing games.. also try to stay active hiking, gym, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have broad and sometimes unusual taste in books, movies and music. I like most genres of music but have been into a lot of hip-hop lately, usually a mix of undergournd/indie stuff and the mainstream stuff. Of course I also love rock music, I'm American!

I've been reading some sci-fi and encyclopedias just because I like random facts. Its no coincidence that lately I've been reading books on how to learn to speak German.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Imperial Palace in Korea was an amazing site. It is only open one day a year and I was lucky enough to be there for it.

The festival I just saw in London, it was incredible and so hard to describe. But lets just say that by the end I was surrounded by thousands and thousands of local Londoners, a foot deep in feathers and celebrating surrounded by music, acrobats, performers and great music. What an experience!

And there is a spot at the top of a mountain near where I grew up. Its not one of the great wonders of the modern world but its beautiful and peaceful and where I first found my love of nature and the outdoors.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love animals, I might be able to help you train a dog better if you have questions. I worked with animal shelters for years.

I attended (but did not finish) art school. But if you would like a drawing 101 class I'd be glad to share what I know.

I can do some simple slight of hand tricks that I might share if you buy me a drink.

I can analyze handwriting. Not an expert but good enough to have fun with. I will gladly share my limited knowledge.

I am a long time veteran of the card game 'Magic the Gathering.'
