About Me

Hello, I am from the great golden state of California and grew up in Visalia. Recently I decided to pack up and travel for awhile and see the world. I worked for a medical practice of four ophthalmologist and optometrist, learning a great deal of knowledge in this field. Unfortunately a year ago February 2016 I was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm with no choice but to have open heart surgery or face eminent death at age 35. Successfully endured a life changing surgery that was very difficult and emotional but in time got back to me original life with a great outlook for life. This change in my life allowed me to live much better and active life as well caused a shift in future plans. This is was my chance to travel. I have been to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, and now Australia. I have really great and respectful manners and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new things or ways of life. I met many amazing friends from my travels and some locals of countries who even let me stay with them. My plan is to see as much as can before I go back home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because other travelers mentioned it to me. I honestly never heard of this until friends told me it's really a good way to travel. I'm new with this way of accommodation and I'm willing to try it. I have much respect for people's homes and always respect someone's property just as I would if I let someone stay with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music, any movies, my favorite book is this boys life from Tobias Wolfe and others he wrote. So many books to read so I'm open to any good read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I did was get out of bed from surgery and started walking. It was insanely difficult. And probably traveling so far. I a;so want to swim in cages with great white sharks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I helped a little bit with teaching conversation with my Thai friend. But that doesn't count as real teaching. I've learned a great deal of human anatomy of eyes, some surgical knowledge of eyes, and optometry and prescriptions. The math too included and assisting doctors and the ophthalmic language. My aim is to also learn anything from anyone about their cultures and language. I can share, my family raised me good. I enjoy sharing so I have no problem with that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share food groceries, drinks, help with anything asked from host. Cleaning anything.

Countries I’ve Visited
