About Me

I have never really been any good at these profile things, I hope you can catch my humor.

I'm from the great country of America (The only America that matters in the Americas). However, as great of a country it is, I've always preferred Europe for it's more variety of culture. In the states I could drive for 8 hours and still not leave my own state. However, just a few hours in Europe and you're surrounded by a new culture. I chose to go live in Estonia for an exchange year, I've loved it, and being an American, you are never expected to learn another language (Northern parts of the states that is). I discovered my love of learning languages while teaching myself Estonian, and I really don't know what is more rewarding, sometimes I don't even have to pay for my beer at the bar! Really though, because of my love for Europe (and the world) with it's variety that I wasn't even aware of until 9 months ago. My dream would be to live in different countries for set periods and then move onto the next.

(TL;DR) I'm a young stupid American who had his eyes opened 9 months ago, who rocks a man bun/beard combo and who will talk for hours about anything and everything, hopefully making some decent jokes along the way.

I have lived in Estonia for about 9 months now, but plan on going through parts of Europe meeting friends, which leads me to the next part down below as to why I'm on Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be traveling through certain countries in Europe and so I decided to try some Couchsurfing, if you've read this much of my profile I thank you already for giving me a chance.

Interests

I love languages, music, comedy, and I would like to be doing standup comedy consistently when I go back to the states. I don't really know what feels better than making someone laugh. I love my own hair, I'll admit it, it takes work to do nothing and let it grow for 2 years. I love drinking beer (Czech or Polish beers are probably the best I've had), and meeting new people has to be at the top of my list, always. I have realized that you can learn something new from every individual that you meet, whether you like them or not, it is your job to understand them in anyway you can, and use it in your own life. Ask them questions, you don't have to follow their advice, but listen to it.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie of all time would have to be Pulp Fiction, but there's also just too many to count, I enjoyed Blade Runner, Django Unchained, The Matrix. I love Anime, I love old films, I love foreign films, and who doesn't have memories of watching starwars for the first time.

I used to read a lot, I think it would be better to give my favorite authors, David Foster Wallace (Infinite Jest), Ray Bradbury (I loved the Martian Chronicles), John Steinbeck, Herman Hesse, I could go on, we all love the classics, and I love poetry as well, one of my favorite art forms.

Am I allowed to say I simply love music?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We've all done amazing things, for me to choose just one would tarnish the others.

Teach, Learn, Share

I agree, but at this point in my life I am mostly learning, and sharing the things I can, so hopefully one day I can be a good teacher. (I nailed this writing prompt)

I can teach you Estonian (If that's something... you want)

Being an American in Estonia really gets you relearning your own language and how things work.

With that said, if you are looking to improve your English,

It's possible I could help you out in some ways, just ask, I'd love to sit down and help. It's really all I can offer in terms of sheer knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Giving specifics here seems strange, however, I am confident we can make something work, I understand how you're putting yourself out there and I thank you.

I simply want to meet new people, understand more things, and enjoy myself. I would love to have you along for a part of it, I hope this all didn't sound too pompous or silly, thanks for reading.
