I'm a lot like your typical white guy from the USA, but I like to think that traveling has helped me break out of that boring shell. First and foremost, I'm a thinker. My brain is always planning and pondering. That served me well in college when I did everything I could to spend more time abroad than on campus. After graduating from the University of Louisville this past May, I now have a personal year before entering dental school (still waiting on admissions decisions!). In other words, don't worry - I'm not licensed to inflict pain with drills...yet. Just kidding, but honestly I'm excited to start a career in the healthcare field. My goal in life is to strike a balance between a purposeful career and a fulfilling personal life. Humans still haven't figured out how to visit other planets yet, but luckily I figure exploring this planet will keep me busy for quite a few years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a recent college grad on the infamous "gap year," I'm trying not to let it go to waste by sitting around at home. I haven't made use of Couchsurfing in my previous travels, but now that I may be flying solo, I'm excited to meet locals who can show me around. I love hostels, but I see Couchsurfing as a great way to meet new friends and get to know the places I'm visiting.

Interests

TRAVEL - hard to come by, but definitely my all time favorite. MUSIC - I can listen all day, even though my playing abilities are amateur. Dancing, too - I promise I'm a bundle of fun in a club. I love talking about physics, neuroscience, and philosophy, so deep conversations are my go-to. Soccer, tennis, and weightlifting keep me healthy. I love my alma mater, UofL. Hiking, backpacking, and camping are also food for my soul; the outdoors were always a big part of my life in Boy Scouts (shout out to my fellow Eagle Scouts). Oh, and I eat like there's no tomorrow, especially if it involves chocolate.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music? Oh boy, everything from classical to reggaeton to alternative rock to country to pop, plus all the genres in between. All of it makes life better.

For movies, I'm generally a fan of anything with action, fantasy-adventure, or comedy. I'm partial to the blockbuster series, like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Fast & Furious, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. At any rate, I don't spend too much time in front of the big screen.

Harry Potter and Game of Thrones are two of my faves. Anything educational regarding my favorite topics: Stephen Hawking & Brian Green for physics, Malcom Gladwell and others for business/psychology, and assorted authors for neuroscience). I also try to cover the classics, like The Divine Comedy, Oscar Wilde, and Don Quixote.
