About Me
Hi, Hello.
My name is Nic! I am from Cape Town, South Africa and am setting out on my first set of international travels (about time).
I was born and bred in Cape Town and have travelled around South Africa as well as a few escapades into Botswana & Namibia.
I get a lot of pleasure out of the company of friends and family, both of which I hold close to my heart. I am friendly and lively (and have been called loud) person, though do gradually warm to new situations whilst assessing the characters around. (I don't come in shooting from the hip. Well not always)
I love learning and interacting with new situations, cultures and people. I find humans highly interesting and observing and experiencing the different ways various humans human, can be greatly entertaining - as well as challenging - which allows for great opportunities for reflection and growth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am travelling in South America this year by Bicycle. I love to meet up with fellow couch surfers. I have met a number of couch surfers through friends who have hosted, and my few times being hosted, and all of you have been friendly and outgoing and highly interesting, soo this seems to be a good way to meet new people and explore the inner working/social dynamics of new locations around the world.
The outline for my trip has been as follows; I cycled from Buenos Aires down to Bahía Blanca, caught a lift to el Bolsón and then rode up to Angostura and crossed into Chile.
From there I cycled south along the Carretera Austral and back into Argentina. It was amazing!!!
The next plan is to fly up to Colombia, work in a orphanage for a few months and actually learn Spanish properly at long last and the. Cycle south out of Colombia, through Ecuador and Peru and if I'm still interested im cycling by then, Bolivia and some of northern Chile and Argentina...Hopefully!!
Interests
Music has a large role in my life & I am a biig fan of Metal & Jazz variations of music. There are more artists than i can list, but a few are mentioned further below.
My hobbies/interests include Slacklining (chiefly longlining), Trail Running, Football/Soccer, Hiking and going away for weekends ;)
