About Me

I'm a culturally displaced rebel with too many causes, a singular iconoclast for a nonexistent age, and a humble one at that. Which is a fun way to say I have more interests than I have time, and that I waste a lot of what little time I have by acting smart on the internet.

I see myself more as a migrant than as a member of any particular nation, and if faced with only two roads, I'm the type of person who likes to forge a third.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess mostly because "the mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience."

Interests

I'm generally curious about the world and people around me. In fact, one of my lifelong beliefs is everything is interesting when looked at from the right angle. Searching for the right angle is the fun part for me, so the subject is more often than not inconsequential.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy, Predictably Irrational, The Martian Chronicles, Of Mice and Men, Dune, Furiously Happy, Flaubert's Parrot, and most things written by Brandon Sanderson.

Movies: Hero, 7 Samurai, 12 Angry Men, Reservoir Dogs, The Incredibles, Memento, Leon: The Professional, World's End, The Breakfast Club, A Clockwork Orange, Tropa de Elite, and Princess Mononoke.

Music: So much music.

Shows: Firefly, West Wing, Rick & Morty, Seinfeld, Over The Garden Wall, Arrested Development, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Last Week Tonight, Cowboy Bebop, and Black Mirror.

Food: The one I cook. Because it always tastes of accomplishment, and almost never of charcoal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Currently a recovering competitive talker, but before I retired I was a national champion and an international record setter.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm like an anthropomorphic encyclopedia, so generally a very educational person to hangout with. Though it's impossible to know what you'll end up learning about.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Mexico, United States
