ABOUT ME

I grew up in Edmonton in a stable household with two parents who are still together and who have worked in the arts all their lives.

I have been bouncing from institution to institution since graduating High School and have found it increasingly difficult to choose a major or even any one thing that does not get quickly dashed to pieces by the mediocrity that is the early years of post-secondary education. Needless to say I am in need of some broadening of horizons, some fresh challenges and a look at how others have grown-up in differing contexts.

PHILOSOPHY

Live my life to see, learn, taste, be wrong, make love, make art, to feel overwhelmed, to make mistakes, to discover my individuality, to make others smile and help make this world a more beautiful place in which to exist.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a fledgling here, just starting out on a trip to study at Cambridge for a month and then explore Europe by train for the three months following. Hoping to build some strong friendships and an inspiring knowledge of how different people in different places go about living. Ultimately all to the ends of narrowing down what I am interested in enough that I can dedicate the years required to receive formal education in that field.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a few people now but have not yet hosted. The most recent one was not actually through the site but via a fellow I met on a night train who hosted me in Götegorg!

Interests

Things that move me, usually music, theatre, dance, making films, parties, stories, imagining, making music, photos, poems. I like to garden and be challenged physically outdoors. I am interested in the things people do that convert energy into something that didn't exist before. Architecture, as both a physical manifestation and as an abstract concept. I like the science behind things. And I like feelings that can't be explained, only felt, and when you find a person who understands without the aid of speech.

I saw the only water-spout to have occurred on the St.Lawrence River from an observation tower in Vieux-Montreal. It was so neat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach humility, patience, and self-love. I want to learn acceptance, how to be comfortable in all different types of social situations, and how to be a good friend. I want to share moments that define the way we live together and shape how we see the world.
