CURRENT MISSION

To see endless magical things. On this trip (October '14 - ???!!!$$$) I have visited 18 countries and every one has had something to offer. Meeting people is essentially the main reason I travel, so I always try to visit hosts or events with the wildest folk I can find.

ABOUT ME

Ex-journalist and still-writer, drummer and all-round muso, literature student, film-lover, athlete and explorer and general cliché. Very very lovely though, I promise. Recently quit my job at a local paper in the biggest hashtag YOLO ever and booked a one-way flight to Los Angeles, and have been travelling at whim ever since. I love my life, not gonna lie. I consider myself a feminist and won't tolerate any kind of bigotry whatsoever, it's 2015 guys. Meat eater and terrible chef but happy to tolerate my hosts/guests dietary requirements, you make the rules. I like a drink now and then (preferably now).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A) Meeting new people is honestly the most wonderful thing in the world, B) I have money for hostels so usually only surf when the experience is going to be worth it C) mostly the meeting people thing again, genuinely.

Interests

People. I like talking to strangers, the stranger the better. Don't get mad when you try to show me your iPhone, I'll be more interested in something I'm ready to die for.

I tour as much as i can with all kinds of bands as a drummer for hire, always amazing. Intense music and difficult books and greasy food and intellectual conversation without wandering into pretentiousness are also pretty fun. Films with miserable endings do it for me. Journalism at a local and international level is important to me.
