HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really enjoy hosting and couch surfing. There's no better way than to stay with locals, make friends and truly understand the culture and region your staying in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since moving into a larger apartment with my partner this summer ('14) we have been able to host quite a few couch surfers. I have couch surfed on my travels to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico as well as Vancouver BC Canada.

I love to try new things, ride my bike around the city, explore new places, get my hands dirty in the garden, create DIY projects and practice the guitar. I am passionate about helping the environment, and finding ways to promote positive impacts on the earth. I also love to bake and cook gluten free, especially experimenting with new ingredients. I understand that people have their own diets for their own reasons and I welcome and respect that.

Movies: Interstellar, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Safety not Guaranteed, Fight Club, Without a Paddle. I like to watch movies that are up lifting or that have a powerful message. Genres I usually watch are comedy, drama and suspenseful but rarely horror.
Music: Mumford and Sons, Empire of the Sun, Florence and the Machine, Alt J, Marina and the Diamonds, Milo Greene, Fitz and the Tantrums, Group Love, John Newman. Alternative, Indie Folk, Indie rock.
Books: Omnivores Dilemma, Ecotopia, Wangari Maatai. I love to read nonfiction books, biographies, classics, and greek mythology. I also read fictional books (and yes I've read all of the Harry Potter series). Sometime in the future I plan on picking up the Game of Thrones series, once they've all been written, it kills me to wait for an upcoming book.

The first time I rock climbed outside at Smith Rock. It was really challenging and extremely different than bouldering in the gym! But now I can't wait for the next time I can rock climb outside.

Happy company and a safe place to sleep. I have plenty of space in my apartment. I can also give advice on what to do in this spectacular city and even show you around.
