About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting to learn more and more about different cultures, share experiences and occasionally teach and learn something life-useful

ABOUT ME

I'm a very easy going and open minded guy, interested in getting to know more and more about new cultures throughout good chats based on sincerity and confidence. After all, any CS experience, as any other sharing experience in life, should be about the "immersion" of two or more people in each other's life, even for a short period of time, and it doesn't work if you're not being true to yourself and to the others, right?

Normally I'm more of quiet and philosophical, but good company can get me comfortable enough to talk bullshit for hours (read it - the fun kind of bullshit). And I couldn't resist a good party with good people whenever I have the energy for it..

PHILOSOPHY

Among lots of other ideas I would say I'm a visionary - or maybe I just have an utopic hope for the evolution of society - but i think nowadays priorities are confused and people are worried about the wrong things, most of the time. I like to think I'm investing for my growth as a human being, more than as a professional, father, son, or any other status. I think, after all, no matter what's the role you play in society, you are only good if you do and spread good.

"The most practical way to change the world is to change your perception of the world."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far the best community to meet good people from all around, interested in sharing their culture, their life experiences and the things that life thaught them, be as a host or as a surfer.

Interests

Hard to choose, I would say I'm regularly interested in any form of culture and/or art being music, theater, movies, food, dance, read, write, long walks and chats..

At the moment I'm working at a wine store at the Belmond Cataratas Hotel and studying my ass off to get through the series of wine certificates one needs to become an internationally respected Sommelier.

It's getting more and more cliché for one to say they're eclectic, but I really like too many different kinds and styles of music, including Bossa Nova, Jazz, TripHop, Blues, Classical Rock, Indie Rock, Reggae, Classical Erudite, Folk, Soul, Chill Out, World Music and Easy Listening

Been listenig a lot to - Vinicius de Moraes, Chat Baker, Miles Davies, Portishead, Lou Reed, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rodrigo Amarante, O Terno, Modest Mouse, Room Eleven.

Movies:
Woody Allen, David Cronenberg, Martin Scorsese, Ingmar Bergman, Michel Gondry, Luc Besson, Wes Anderson, Pedro Almodovar, Guillermo Del Toro, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, Terry Gillian, Guy Ritchie, Coen Siblings, Quentin Tarantino.

Books:
Charles Bukowski(favorite), Jack Kerouak, Willian S. Burroughs, Carlos Castañeda, Ernerst Hemingway, Aldous Huxley, Tim Powers, Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Argentina by bicycle with a couple of friends with 2% of planning and, for 2 weeks only met great people and beautyful places, ate some amazing local foods on a legitimate adventure, camping next to rivers and even showering in a museum..

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, my life is becoming more and more centered in the wine world and everything that's included in it, so I can always discuss the topic or even, if there's a wine phisically involved, teach anyone who doesn't know it, the common tasting method to evaluate a wine, or if it doesn't suffice, I was also a barman for a few years, so I could teach how to prepare a good caipirinha, or I could also teach some portuguese and a little of the brazilian culture..

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Chile, France
