About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Before I had here "Finding what I really want to do and where" - now I know, WHAT I want to do, so now it's up to me finding out WHERE :-)

ABOUT ME

Since I have been travelling around in New Zealand I love this life-style to meet new people, to hang out with cool people from other countries and "backpack" your way around the world. That's why I've taken that job in the hostel in Munich where I have been working since 2006. I went to New Zealand right after having finished school and after my NZ- trip I went to university. I am now studying psychology. I have chosen this subject because it is one of the many areas I am interested in, I would also be happy with studying languages or biology or physics or whatever, just too many things that I would love to know more about. I am born in Munich (the city of octoberfest!!) and I am studying in Heidelberg, but I am living in Konstanz at the lake of Constance. I am currently working in Equine Assisted Therapy, so I am using horses to help people with psychic disturbances.

PHILOSOPHY

Live your life as long as you have it and I also think that everybody has a huge chance by having his life and more or less 10 fingers and 2 legs and even if not, what you make out of it counts, not what you've got.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about it from my Irish friend and I tought I would feel well in this community as I like the philosophy of it. I already had great moments with couchsurfing while travelling and I hosted some very nice people. I Bordeaux, there was a special Couchsurfing Community, which was cool.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the opportunity to surf the couch of 3 great people in Lisbon and I also found a really nice host in Annecy, France. I offered my couch to a cool guy from Hamburg, which I even visited in France afterwards- thanks to CS!! In Bordeaux, I joined a language group via Couchsurfing, which was great.

Interests

At home I have two doggies, that are very important for me and sometimes, I take them with me to Konstanz for a week or two, just for holidays ;-) There you see, that I also love the outdoors. Anything outside is fine with me, walking, jogging, hiking, climbing (but I am a beginner), swimming, kayaking, canoeing, .... I also really enjoy riding.
Apart from that I love dancing (Jazz Dance e.g.) and acrobatics.
Very important for me is also my vaulting group. I am the coach of this vaulting group, as I did that sport when I was younger. Vaulting is acrobatics on a gallopping horse.
The best thing in my opinion is to find Newcomer- Bands at festivals in summer and support them by singing and dancing in front of their stage during their tours in winter :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: e.g. garden state.
Music: Rock, Indie, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Dub, Chillout/ Lounge
Books: I am currently reading "The five people you meet in heaven" and I think, if you are looking for a new inspiration what to read, try that one. Also nice: Jostein Gaarder "Das Orangenmädchen" or Commissario Montalbano (I love his addiction to good food!!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most impressing things I have seen in my life is Cape Reinga, New Zealand, the point where the two oceans meet: Able Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean. You can see the waves breaking into each other from both sides. I love the sea so this was amazing, not only for my eyes.

Last year in sweden my heart was touched so much by the one moment: I sat with a friend in a canoe, right after a thunder-storm, but the air was already totally calm again. It was about halb past 10 in the evening, the sun had just set and it was nearly full moon. We were fishing and the only noise was the whirring of my fishing rod. But then, suddenly - a wolf was howling!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am quite into Acrobatics. But currently I don't have a group here to do it.
I would like to start doing Krav maga, so if you know something about that, I would be very curious to here about it.
And of course, the horses. If it will be possible to arrange a ride is not always sure, but in any case I can take you to the range if you like. Ever went Jogging with a horse at your side? ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughing, having interesting conversations and enjoying life together for example by walking around the city or sit for a good glass of wine :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Fiji, France, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States
