About Me
Currently a serving member of the British Armed Forces as a combat medic and physical training instructor.
I'm an easy person to get in with, I could make friends in an empty room. Always up for trying something new, a complete yes man. I don't want to miss out on any more opportunities in life so I'll try anything once. I just want to be out of my comfort zone and do things and become somebody I can be proud of.
Soon I will have left the army and will be setting off to travel the world. I'm starting with New York for 42 days (over Christmas too!!!) and then 2 months later I leave for at least a year in Thailand, then who knows where!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel by myself for a while, I believe it will force me outside of my comfort zone and will help me meet like minded people and experience new things.
Making new friends and new experience is the priority.
Interests
Fitness and weight training are my biggest passion. I love training its what gave me confidence as a kid and has instilled a level of discipline in me that not even the army could have done.
I'm a huge basketball fan, I only got into it a couple years ago but im an avid fan and love watching the NBA.
I'm a huge music geek, anything and everything. Talent is captivating, wether it's musical, singing or art I can't help but enjoy witnessing it.
I love to read, I never go anywhere without my kindle, however i would prefer a good paper book... It's the little things aha
TV ranges from series like Game of Thrones, friends Californiacation, to Documentaries on anything I'm even vaguely interested in.
Besides that I love to get new things, like I keep saying I want to experience anything and everything.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music- favourite band of all time are the Red hot chilli peppers. Love bands like Bastille and Mumford and sons. If I am training I will listen to Rap and Rock. Chilling out, then I love anything acoustic or old school rock like Guns n Roses, AC/DC, The Who etc...
Books- my taste is so varied it makes no sense
Movies- All time favourites are Coach Carter, Remember the Titans and Pumping iron. Massive superhero film geek and I'm completely unashamed to admit I love a good chick flick or RomCom
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Thailand for 3 months and trained in MMA, Muay Tha and BJJ, which was like therapy after returning from Afghanistan.
Teach, Learn, Share
Other than teaching you some great British humour and banter, I can teach you a few actual practical skills-
Medical knowledge, ranging from first aid, to anatomy and physiology to advance trauma life support and airway surgeries
Fitness and healthy living- being a physical training instructor in the army and personal trainer qualified I can help with/ give training advice. I can also help with any nutrition and diet advice, maybe teach a few simple cooking tricks I learnt to turn eating healthy actually enjoyable.
Learning- the biggest skill I would love to learn is how to play the guitar. Any skills you can teach I would love to give a go at learning. Other than skills, if you have any travel stories or advice from your own experiences I would love to hear them. Even genuine life advice would be welcome.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I understand that letting a stranger into your home can be difficult. I can help out with any chores or even and work to earn my keep, But also I believe I can become a friend to anyone, I have a refreshing view on life, I love to socialise and share story's with people from all walks of life.
