I moved back to Cleveland after 2 years in Brooklyn for grad school. My MFA is in fiction (I write short stories). I quit academia to tend bar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm driving through the South across country. I'll be hitting Louisville, Chattanooga, Tuscaloosa, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, El Paso, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, LA, and the Bay Area. I'll probably end up living in LA, but that's still up in the air.

I'm not necessarily looking to party my way across the USA, but I'd really love to pick everyones' brains over too many drinks.

I have a writing project for this cross country trip. I think it will largely be centered around the Kentucky Derby, the legacy of Hunter S. Thompson, and navigating the stresses placed on our culture by leftist asceticism and libertarian nihilism.
