About Me

My name is Nick; I am a 28 years old Dutch guy currently living in Maastricht, the Netherlands.I am a calm, somewhat introverted person but that does not take away from my excitement and curiosity for travel, and meeting new people.

I really love the outdoors, spending hours in the kitchen to cook for my loved ones, trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee, going to electronic music festivals and traveling the world. There's nothing better than broadening your horizons by immersing yourself in cultures that are new to you. I used to live in Hong Kong, South Africa and Belgium. I work in marketing & communications at a sustainability-driven startup and I'm always keen to talk about it and share learnings. I have used couchsurfing extensively throughout my travels and have met amazing people this way, so I want to give back and host people myself as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about Couchsurfing from friends, and the site was discussed on a television show. Furthermore, I finished Tomislav Perko's book '1000 Days of Spring', in which Couchsurfing is praised and which inspired me to complete my profile.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide array of music; from jazz, blues and soul to indie pop/rock, chill acoustic jams and singer-songwriters to hip hop and electronic music (house, techno). My all time favorite book is the Neverending Story, and movies that I could watch over and over again include Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Inception.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Road tripping through beautiful Norway: pretty amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to share and provide a comfortable space to travellers! I'm always up to show people around, to play music together, or simply just have a beer and talk about all aspects of life.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Hong Kong, Netherlands, South Africa
