About Me

Hello! I am 23 years and preparing for my final year of university after taking the past year off. I attend Georgetown University in Washington, DC with a double major in Government & French.

I am avidly interested in politics, so I love keeping up to date on the news as well as discussing current events with people. I have been studying French for eight years and spent a semester in Lyon, France and recently spent a few months interning at the French Embassy in the United States in DC.

Some of my favorite things to do are reading, running, playing tennis, hiking, debating with people, and being outside. I always like trying new things and love activity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have love traveling for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was lucky to travel almost every year with my family, both around the United States and to other countries as well. Now that I am in university, I have begun to travel independently of them, either with friends or on my own. While I have loved the places I've visited, I have often find it challenging to meet local inhabitants and see places from the local perspective. I also love meeting new people and trying new things. This summer (2017) will be my first time ever couchsurfing, but I can't wait to see what adventures it brings me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite book: I struggle to choose one favorite but a few off the top of my head are "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini, "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak, "Emile" by Rousseau, "Journey into the Whirlwind" by Eugenia Ginzburg, "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac, and of course the "Harry Potter" and "Hunger Games" series.

Films: Favorite movie is "My Cousin Vinny." I also like psychological ("Shutter Island") and historical types ("Joyeux Noël" is a classic).

Music: I don't have great musical tastes but some of my favorite artists are Eminem, Ratatat, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flume, Stromae, and Taylor Swift. Currently looking for French-language music to practice my French listening skills.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed the Grand Teton and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you some environmental facts, or a movement-language called eurythmy! And some French.

Learn: The main thing I want to learn is more about the places I visit, but I also love to learn new sports.

Share: I hope to make and share good memories.
