Overview
About Me
I’m a 24 year old fella from Michigan who has through travel been so delighted to come across miraculous generosity in nearly every place I have traveled so I want to share that same generosity with as many people as I can. I have done a whole lot of solo roadtripping across America and have fallen in love with so many places and people and want to share my love of travel and the outdoors and culture with the people I come across. I sort of go from job to job a lot, mostly handy work and odd jobs and manual labor stuff but an incredibly passionate about wildlife conservation so I find great kinship with those who share that interest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Had some truly life changing experiences staying with incredibly kind folks across the United States. Want to pay it forward
Interests
I have a deep love for the outdoors and the natural world, most especially birdwatching. I am always endlessly fascinating with how natural history and geography help shape the culture of a place so I’m always looking to explore that in whatever place I’m in. I love sports, both watching and playing. Particularly baseball so I typically must catch a ballgame when I’m in a place that offers that. Have a deep love for music and music history, always on the search for new artists and types of music I may not be aware of. And frankly one of my favorite things to do in the world is just kick back in the evening with a beer and listen to music and have a good long relaxing talk with whomever I’m in the company of.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything Motown (Four Tops, The Supremes, Martha & the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder), Bob Dylan, The Band, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Sam Cooke, classic country music and any early American Roots music.
Favorite movies include His Girl Friday, Once Upon a Time in the West, Days of Heaven, and The Thing.
Big fan of the classics, East of Eden is my favorite book and I also read a lot of naturalist writings. John Burrows, Jennifer Ackerman are writers I love.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled to another continent on the other side of the world by myself. Which for many people is not so remarkable but for someone of my upbringing it is, and it was an incredibly eye opening experience. Something I want to seek more of in this magnificent world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would consider myself to be a relative expert on North American bird life, especially around the Great Lakes region and am passionate about getting people outside and learning about the birds that surround them everyday. I also love teaching people about Great Lakes natural history and beautiful places to explore around through region
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully a love of travel and a deep passion for learning about other places around the world and ways of living as well as knowledge to share about my own part of the world. Also an interest in getting out and exploring whatever place I am with said host.
