About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Nikolai and I live in Moscow, Russia!
I'm studying in University in Moscow, work as an auditor in JSC "KPMG", love to write music, sing and do some extreme sports!
From this year I also lead local tours in Moscow as a tour guide.
I really love traveling and use any of opportunities to go somewhere!

I was born in Smolensk, around 400 km. western from Moscow in the family of Russian Germans so I can speak german as well. For studying I moved in Moscow and now I live here already 8 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel myself on the right place when I’m on the road. Different countries, cultures and of course people are giving me opportunity to feel alive. And in fact there is no difference between them, everybody are kind and always ready to help.
The love to interact with people brought me here and it's the best one if you want to travel not like a tourist but like a local.

I’ve also become a local tour guide in Moscow because of it and I really love this job.

I like to be engaged in activity work and this job opens up many opportunities - to meet tourists from all around the world, to show them beautiful sights and objects, tell interesting stories, and see how they are amazed about architecture and hidden secret places in the city center – it all always make me happy. It is fun to share opinions about different topics with foreign people, get to know different cultures and feel that tourists are eager to learn new.

FIFA World Cup just finished in Russia and I've been very happy to meet people from different parts of the world who would not come to Russia in any other situation. A lot of them noticed that Russia is not that bad and russians are very friendly so I hope in the future more and more people will visit our big country!

Interests

I use any opportunity to travel around the world, participate in international youth projects and educational camps. I like sport - cycling, hiking, diving. And my true love is to compose and write music. I try to make art in any possible way.

I like making music: I play guitar and sing , write my own material. Right now I'm getting vocal lessons from the professional teacher to make it as good as possible.
I also like visiting live shows and music concerts!

My second interest is sport. Mostly I like extreme sport! When I was younger, I was driving sketeboard and roller skate, but now I mostly like bycicle. When a summertime comes, I drive all the time! I take it and drive to the City center through the Sparrow Hills, Gorky Park, down to the Moscow river's embankment which is exactly my favorite place. No matter what type of transport you’ll take, bike, boat or by foot, it will lead you though main significant places of the city and will show you the best sights.
Also I like aquatics. I swim since 6. Really love diving with an aqualung or just snorkelling as well as windsurfing.
In the future, I want to try acrobatics, rock climbing, jump with a parachute, and will try it in the next few years for sure!

Other interests are obviously like everyone have: listen to music, play games (mostly on PlayStation 4), stroll with friends... And I'm always finding some new activities!

Music, Movies, and Books

In fact, I love a different variety of genras, from pop songs to deathcore. My own music is also differs from song to song, it can be alternative rock/punk/industrial metal/metalcore or electronics (mostly it's a blend). I love such bands like Enter Shikari which cannot be defined by genre. They always do something new, and I also use that philosiphy.

Movies also cannot be devided by genres, I like all of them, maybe fantasies more and horrors less.

Lately I don't had enough time for reading books and have some of them still to read. Some of russian and international classic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been performing on the stage in front of 1500 people the song Twentyonepilots - Heathens dressed in the band style.

There was not a lot things I've done yet but I'm young and looking forward to live life that I would be proud of!

The fate that you’ll meet today
The time that will come tomorrow
The dream that was yesterday
Will change all your life forever

...your life is giving you an opportunities every day, you only need to recognize and use them. You won't know what will happen in the next day or week, maybe it will change your life and be that thing you've been waiting so long.
