About Me

ABOUT ME

I recently quit my job as an engineer to accomplish a dream of mine of traveling around the world. I started with a 2 month road trip around the US before flying to Central America. I've been heading south ever since and am continually searching for more waves.

PHILOSOPHY
You can learn something from every person you meet.

Never stop exploring, learning, and growing.

I think the world would be a much better place if everyone gave an honest effort at chasing their dreams. How many world changing ideas have gone to the grave out of fear of failure? It is my dream to inspire people to achieve what they think is impossible.

"There are people who cannot resist the desire to get into a cage with wild beasts and be mangled. They go in even without revolver or whip. Fear makes them fearless..."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet people and create some great mutual experiences.

Interests

I love surfing but unfortunately don't live close enough to the beach to do it as often as I would like. Hiking, volleyball, trivia nights, games, reading, swimming, and general exploring this wonderful world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Alchemist, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Harry Potter series (I've read them all at least 6 times), Calvin and Hobbes (I have a tattoo that was inspired by this comic series).

Movies: Fight Club, Gladiator, Lucky Number Slevin, Deadpool, Zoolander, Harry Potter, LotR, Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds, American Psycho, Memento, Inception.

Music: Country to hard rock, rap to classical, I enjoy pretty much any type of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was very honored to serve as the officiant for my friends wedding. Being a part of something that special was a truly amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied abroad in San Sebastián which is in the Basque Country in Northern Spain. I know a pretty simple but very delicious and healthy recipe for Basque soup that I would be more than happy to make.

I love to surf and if we meet anywhere near the ocean, I can serve as an impromptu surf instructor.

I am in the process of learning Spanish and I really like to practice when possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My recipe for Basque soup of course! Other than providing a delicious option for physical sustenance, I am the type of person you want as your partner in crime. I am a friendly, smiling, and adventurous person. I love helping people along their own personal journeys, whether it is being a good listener or helping to get over fear of public embarrassment.
