HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After travelling around the world ona motorcycle , we are back home and would love to open our 'couch' to friends we met along the way as well as to new friends who would like to explore Texas!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been great so far! It really gives us an insider perspective on how people live in different countries!

Our interests are varied, from sports to traveling to culture and art. I really love extreme sports like motorcross and like to participate in rallies and enduros. My wife enjoys learning about different cultures, art, and architecture. Currently our big project is to travel around the world on our motorcycle. We are currently two and a half years into the trip and have traveled from India>Nepal>Thailand>Laos>Cambodia>Vietnam>Malaysia>Singapore>Indonesia>East Timor>Australia>South Africa>Swaziland>Lesotho>Namibia>Botswana>Zimbabwe>Mozambique>Malawi>Tanzania>Kenya>Uganda>Ethiopia>Back to India>Pakistan>Turkey. We are currently in Europe and hope to travel on to South America! Traveling seems to be our full time job now with planning our routes, managing all our data, keeping our website updated www.rideoverland.com , and taking in all the sights of the different cultures. We love to meet new and interesting people all over the world and share experiences with each other and learn from each other.

We both love anything funny...from British humor to Indian slap stick and everything in between! Kanchan is more of a reader than Nick but it's been a bit tough these days to get into a novel since we've been riding alot! As for music...we love rock, hip-hop, Bhangra, Sufi-rock...basically a little of everything!

Since we've been on a long trip, we've come across many moments where our jaw dropped! Just to mention a few, the moment we reached Everest Base Camp-it was emotionally and physically draining to trek there in peak winter, riding through the terrain of Ladakh to reach the highest motorable roads in the world, snorkeling at an isolated island near the Komodos Island, taking in the scenery of the 3 crater lakes of Kelimutu, and riding through the sea of sand around Mt. Bromo, finding Kanchan's grandparent's house in Pakistan (pre-partition), riding the Silk Route... The list goes on and on but it's more fun to talk about different experiences with other people than listing it out :)

We love to learn new things about the places we visit and about new cultures...Nick loves to learn technical things when it comes to his gadgets (cameras, GPS etc) and he also loves to teach! Kanchan loves to cook and enjoys exchanging recipes!
