ABOUT ME

We're both students in counseling psychology at Mars Hill Graduate School here in Seattle.

PHILOSOPHY

We are Christians. That said, I can almost guarantee you we will shatter all your stereotypes of a Christian. We are respectful and welcoming of everyone and won't talk to you about religion unless you want to talk about it.

Also, we think bicycles are both the way of the past and the way of the future. They are amazing. We love them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We believe that the world is a beautiful place, and we have not lost our faith in humanity. We believe that freely given hospitality is an amazing community-building experience. This is, we feel, a radical notion in today's society. The idea of welcoming someone into your home and feeding them for free is something that goes against the individualist, untrusting society we find ourselves in. We want to stop this, and my first step is bringing you in, feeding you, and offering you shelter.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I (Nick) have both surfed and hosted. I host more than surf, but I have definitely enjoyed the hospitality of a few people. Overall, I've met some amazing people I never otherwise would have. And that's what the project is all about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I (Nick) saw Björk at the Wang Center in Boston on October 11, 2001 for the Vespertine tour. When she came out on stage, everyone was perfectly quiet, holding their breath in unison. Then, a spotlight suddenly beamed from beneath her, so strong it reduced her already diminutive form to a silhouette. As we all sat, stunned, white rose petals fell from the ceiling.

I cried sheets of tears.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach vegan cooking, how to fix bicycles, French, Biblical hermeneutics, computer skills, the basics of design and typography, music theory, music appreciation.

I want to learn languages and, generally, what makes you tick as a human being.
