ABOUT ME
I'm a musician - cellist, composer, music teacher (cello, violin, piano). I love all different aspects of music, and if I weren't a musician, I'd probably be doing something else creative.
I grew up in NYC and after 11 years in Boston (and 6 months in California) I'm back in New York.
Personality: friendly, artistic, curious, ironic. I'm open to talking about anything.
Other interests: literature, tango, meditation and yoga, politics, tennis, Spanish, pool...
I enjoy exploring neighborhoods... thrift shops, parks, museums, concerts and other events. I really love to hike when I'm out of the city - deserts are beautiful.
In the U.S.: San Diego, L.A., Joshua Tree (California), Bent (New Mexico)...
Otherwise: Canada, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Colombia.
I enjoy the company of people who are good-natured, open, artistic, and intelligent.
Let's hang out :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had heard of Couchsurfing over the years, but never really looked into it. Instead, Couchsurfing came to me...
I got a phone call one night from an unknown number. A very nervous-sounding girl (German??) starting talking very rapidaly about visiting, not knowing the city, needing a place to stay, and something about Ryan (a good friend of mine). I didn't understand everything, but being the good friend I am (and the confused friend - I assumed that they and Ryan actually knew each other), I said, "sure". We met an hour or two later for a drink and I found out that Ryan, in fact, had never met or spoken to them before, but had just recieved a message from them on Couchsurfing and, because he was out of town, had decided to give them my number!
It ended up being a great experience. They were perfect guests (from Switzerland, as it so happens), very thoughtful, fun, and interesting to talk to. We ended up going to a concert and having a great time over the next few days. They also returned months later. And after that, I ended up stopping by Switzerland and staying with one of them for a day!
So, here I am, hoping to have more fun and memorable Couchsurfing experiences.
