ABOUT ME

I'm a liberal gal who loves to live it up and absolutely LOVES to travel!! After a year off of work traveling around South America I now find myself hunkering down on Kauai - life is good. In general I'm more optimistic than pessimistic, more chill than crazy, and most times would enjoy a good time with a few people over a loud party of strangers (thought don't get me wrong - there are definitely times for that!!). I skate roller derby with the Wicked Wahine Derby Assoc and it's pretty much the best thing EVER!!!!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life for two reasons. To help people express their fundamental rights and TO TRAVEL!!! I would work for free if it wasn't for needing money to travel. OK 3 reasons, DERBY!!!

I think participating in life is vital. We only live this life once so why waste your time?

So far I've hosted a bunch of people at my previous apts in Seattle and Buenos Aires and surfed in Peru and Hawaii.

DERBY DERBY DERBY!!! Roller Derby pretty much consumes my life right now. Other than that....ahhh, too much to list. I'm interested in good food, good people, and good times. I love getting out into nature, animals, sun, sand, the smell of rain on hot cement, photography, salsa dancing (and really any dancing), culture, music, pushing my boundaries, the unexpected, and TRAVEL!!!

I love lots of types of all those things. I can generally appreciate a mainstream blockbuster hit in any of those forms, but I prefer more independent and foreign stuff. I've been traveling most of the past few years though so I haven't seen much of anything lately.

Some all time fav movies: Rockers, Donnie Darko, Fear & Loathing, Old School (bad I know but it still makes me laugh!), Twin Peaks series, Dirty Dancing, Singles, Casablanca, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, La Dolce Vita, Wedding Singer, Mad Hot Ballroom, Y Tu Mama Tambien.... Some recent loves: Once, The Lives of Others, Hot Fuzz (so f'in funny), Touch the Sound, Deadwood series....

Recent books: Me talk pretty one day (love Sedaris!), You can't get there from here, How to leave the US....

Music: Anything with a good beat - latin rhythms, reggae, hip-hop, creative singer-songwriters. In a practical sense I can teach/share my knowledge of good nutrition and health, cooking, salsa dancing, basic yoga, roller derby/skating, and course travel advice. That list sure seems short though, I hope I have more to offer than that : )
