ABOUT ME

I'm 71 years old, retired from - Hmmm, don't know what to say to that: Teacher; business man; entrepreneur; writer; manufacturer; designer; therapist . . . Those were all my means of involving myself in the world. And another aspect, not so deeply considered, they also brought me an income. And done in various places in Africa and Asia, with a touch of Europe.
I have been a traveler for 43 years, very much the usual mix of human being: generally kind, often generous; sometimes not as nice as I want to be, but never deliberately unkind. Normal.
I've lived close to Buddhist communities for many years and follow much of that philosophy. The teachings of Pema Chodron, Krishnamurti, Alan Watts, Osho and many others have been of great importance in my life.
I've played a musical instrument all my life, Guitar and Piano, and at the moment the flute.

PHILOSOPHY

Never work for money - only work at what you love. 'Follow your bliss' (thank you Joseph Campbell).
Live in the moment. That's worth repeating: Live In The Moment - there isn't any other place to live. Do yoga, meditate, eat good ice cream whenever you get the chance. Be happy - if you aren't happy then you'll never be able to help others to be happy.

How to select? I have been granted an amazing life. To select one thing would be impossible. Walking to a small stream at dawn and seeing a lion lapping water on the other side of the stream a few feet away from me; sailing through a typhoon in the South China sea; on a night dive cut and bleeding and being circled by a shark; climbing Kilimanjaro; trekking to Everest base camp. Being with tribal people in a long house in the heart of the Borneo jungle before the loggers brought destruction to an ancient way of life.
And so much more.

I am a massage therapist and healer with 15 years experience. I have a good knowledge of many healing modalities. I'm also a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher, practiced yoga for over 20 years but stopped my practice completely about four years ago.
I've followed the teachings of the Buddha for many years, and have sat with many great teachers. I play the flute, piano and guitar.
