About Me

I'm a fairly recently retired GP (family doctor), married with 4 sons who are now all living away from home. We have a rather nervous dog who loves having sticks & balls thrown for him. We live in an old stone cottage on the mountainside above Bethesda, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and a bus ride from Bangor. We can offer a small sleeping barn or single beds & we have wifi! Please note that we are not vegetarian or fussy eaters - so if you are, you need to make sure we know about it!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sons introduced me to couchsurfing, bringing new people to our home from time to time & using the website to find hosts all round the world. It's fun meeting people from other cultures & experiences & gives an opportunity to gain insight into the way of life elsewhere

Interests

My husband & I have been Morris dancers & folk dancers/ musicians for many years. We also enjoy gardening, manage a small woodland that we own & tackle our own DIY jobs. I am currently enjoying renovating a house. We walk in the mountains far less than we used to but are happy to give the benefit of our experience to visitors

Music, Movies, and Books

Traditional music. Old fashioned British movies - Brassed Off, Full Monty, First Best Marigold Hotel etc. I also love watching crime fiction on TV. I read light novels but really only when I'm on holiday

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A year ago we travelled to Nepal where our eldest son was volunteering. We travelled around on public transport, did a short trek & enjoyed meeting the wonderful Nepali people. The most fantastic 3 week experience & not bad for a pair of ageing hippies. All the more poignant now, after their appalling earthquakes

Teach, Learn, Share
