About Me
*** Special note for potential guests ***
I work (and study) from home, starting at 6am each day. I'm usually free/social in the afternoons and evenings. Please understand i'll need peace and quiet from 10pm onwards, and arrival no later than 9pm. If you can respect this we're going to get along great!
*** end serious stuff
For me, life is about learning, experiences and freedom, and sharing those with special people. In my 20s I enjoyed living in sharehouses and backpacking on a budget. Now I'm in my 30s I'm more of a 'digital nomad' - travelling light while working remote.
I believe we can all take steps to reduce the amount of waste we generate and material possessions we own. After a lifetime of accumulating sh*t, I've hard reset and now live out of a single carry-on backpack. I love the sharing economy and new transportation technologies like e-bikes and scooters.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing to connect with interesting people from around the globe. I'd like to know more about different places, cultures and ways of thinking. I have been a member for a long time but only recently started hosting (now that my housing situation is more stable). I look forward to being able to host and one day visit with other hosts as well!
Interests
In my late teens I learnt how to cook, starting at a burger place, then as an apprentice in an Italian restaurant. I worked several years part time, eventually becoming head chef of a casual Australian dining restaurant.
I love playing team sports, great way to be active, competitive and social!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music wise I listen to more lo-fi music, chillwave and vaporwave. Or can switch it up with some other genres too.
Top movies would be Starship Troopers, Aliens, Back to the future, Platoon. Prefer TV series like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Starting my digital nomad experience by living in Japan for 6 months. It was fantastic to be able to travel sustainably while continuing my education and career. Even better to be able to experience and explore Japan in detail, including a 5 week stay in Niseko ski village.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to exchange cooking and recipe ideas, and share a meal.
I like to discuss local politics and understand history
What I Can Share with Hosts
