About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Attending events on occasion here in DC

ABOUT ME

I'm calm, collected and usually down to chill when the time comes but also can be known to work days-on-end when I am involved in something I'm passionate about.
I enjoy intelligent conversation, good music and good beer. I have friends that span the globe and love meeting new and interesting people!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy on life is to dream until your dreams come true. My belief is that if I always put in maximum effort in any endeavor of mine that the outcome will be what is "meant to be". So, I always work hard on anything I get into.
It's important to me to have an open mind about this world and people's views about it. Every person has particular sacred principles that they have grown up with and have lived their whole life by. Discovering these principles from other people contribute towards knowing the Truth of how to live an ethical and meaningful life. The main underlying theme of my life is to follow my intuition to the utmost while also always working towards some larger goal. I think every person has a gift to give this world in one why or another, and my efforts entail as much as the next persons: give your gift and watch your influence make a positive impact in another person's life.
That's a minute portion of my philosophy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I provide good company to people who may host me. I can jam well with my guitar, so I could probably give some guitar lessons.
I take part in conversation on a variety of topics. I'm knowledgeable in philosophy, politics, sociology, some religion, sports, education, policy and general life things. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My domestic experienced includes couchsurfing for two weeks when I first moved to Pittsburgh from Oregon then for three weeks in DC with two different hosts before I found a place to live.

Internationally, I've stayed with a host in Copenhagen, Denmark and two different hosts in Madrid, Spain. Both experiences were so great!

I have never hosted myself but sincerely aspire to one day be a regular host.

Interests

People watching, political and philosophical discussion, golfing, guitar playing, reading and more reading, writing, and public affairs of various sorts. I love animals and meeting new people. Oh, and coffee and good beer!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Godfather trilogy, the Matrix trilogy, Old School, The Wedding Crashers, Blow and The Truman Show are probably my favorite movies...I haven't watched a whole lot over the last couple years though :/
For music, I love it all! Let's see, I enjoy bands/musicians like the Wallflowers, Dave Matthews, Incubus, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Chevelle, Jack Johnson, Counting Crows, Kings of Leon, Pink Floyd, Citizen Cope, Alanis Morisette, The Mars Volta, and many more! If it's good music, it's music to my ears.

I'm an avid reader. I usually read biographies, philosophy and history books. I also love social studies, some classic literature, and books on comparative politics and education policy. Studies on world movements and world leaders are also of great interest to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked western Europe during the summer of 2013 for 9 weeks. Spend 3 weeks in Spain, a week in Marseille then went to Prague, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Netherlands and finished in Paris. Highlights were in every city but what stood out as the most memorable was camping at a commune in Marseille for a week. Easily the best week of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach guitar (if I have my guitar on me). I am also down to learn some great cooking, and even cook a meal myself in exchange for knowledge of how to cook new food I have never put together before.
I have many many very good stories to share and am a great and lucid story teller, I´d love to share and hear experiences of life!
