About Me

I live in small town Vermont in the United States, work at a book publisher devoted to environmental and political sustainability, and do freelance editing work on the side. I've been Couchsurfing since I was 14, when my mother discovered this wonderful network of human being and began hosting travelers from all around the world at our home. Growing up, Couchsurfing provided me with a unique perspective on life, vastly expanding my horizons. It taught me the importance of selflessness and shared experience - of spreading knowledge and happiness, and of communal living.

CURRENT MISSION

To explore, to enjoy quality conversation, to meet people who can teach me new things and challenge my preconceptions, to do things I've never done before, to dance, listen to music, to drink good beer and eat delicious food.

PHILOSOPHY

Strive to be easygoing, attempt to enrich the lives of those around you, spread happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My family has hosted Couchsurfers for approximately a decade. I've met countless people from nearly every corner of the globe. I've also had scattered experiences staying with some wonderful hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed on couches in India, Poland, and Germany. Everyone I've encountered has been extremely friendly. I'm always impressed with the easygoing, open-minded attitude that seems to be ubiquitous within the Couchsurfing community. Perhaps the most exciting Couchsurfing experience I had was being taken as a guest to a Hindu wedding in Jaipur, India.
