About Me

Howdy! My name is Nick, and I'm a doctor, former radio show host, sketch comedy writer and amateur scotch connoisseur from Ontario, Canada.

My main hobbies include posing as an international super spy, practicing impersonations of Woody Harrelson, and tricking people at Bat Mitzvahs into thinking I'm Amish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love meeting new people, for me its the best part of traveling abroad!
Couchsurfing seems like the best way to make new friends while exploring different parts of the world. And of course, I love experiencing different cultures, seeing new perspectives, and exploring the giant blue marble that is planet Earth

Interests

I really enjoy exploring my city's cool restaurants, bars and fun places. I'm also an avid bike rider, and find reading about science and technology super interesting!

As mentioned above, I host my own radio show in my home town, along with my buddy Sukhpreet. The whole show is pretty much us talking about TV and movies for 30 minutes, and its a blast to do once a week.

My roommates and I have taken up scotch tasting as a hobby, and are currently on our fourth bottle, a quarter cask Laphroaig. We at one point commissioned an artist to create 17th century renaissance portraits of each of us, which are currently framed in our living room (see my photos section).

I'm on a vacation for a few months before starting residency in July, and I'm spending some time traveling across Europe. When I'm not at work or at school, you can find me chilling in bars or house parties with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love pop science books by Michio Kaku and Brian Greene, My favorite fiction books are Zorba the Greek and Pat Rothfuss's Kingkiller series. I'll listen to any genre of music but I'm especially a fan of indie rock, and have played trombone in a jazz band for around 6 years. I'm a huge fan of movies (Pulp Fiction, The Prestige, City of God) and TV shows (Breaking Bad, GoT, Mad Men)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once jumped out of a moving taxicab to escape a would-be kidnapper.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love trading stories with people and I'm always happy to share stories from my adventures living in Ghana and Canada, and love listening to people's life stories! I'm also a reasonably good cook and a cocktail maker, I'm happy to make everyone a delicous food and drinks!
