Hola! I'm currently residing in Singapore, a small sunny country off the equator. I have just graduated with a diploma and is currently awaiting to enlist into the national army. I'm always keen to meet new people and learn new cultures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always dreamed of travelling since I was young and I am really lucky enough to have traveled to numerous countries with my family when I was younger.

Recently, I have decided to explore travelling solo and I absolutely loved it. My most recent trip would be to Sydney and I met a lot of interesting people along the way and it has really inspired me to constantly travel to new places and discover more of what the world has to offer..

I have never couchsurf-ed before and this will be my first time surfing and hopefully, host in the future. (not here to leech off free accommodation because you can always book a hotel and stay alone but the experience that you make through hostels & meeting locals cannot be bought !)

Interests

Travelling has always been one of my biggest interest. I enjoy learning about new cultures, exploring new places and meeting new people; mostly because the country that I have came from is relatively small and we do not have much to see here.

I am really big on fashion and art as well. I really enjoy looking at latest fashion trends and reading up on fashion blogs / style magazines / campaigns. I would love to be working in the fashion/media industry one day and I am still working towards that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music actually. Given my age, most would assume I am into latest pop musics and house music but I am one of those who really appreciate classics and oldies as well. I have a thing for Lana Del Rey; her music speaks to me for reasons unknown. All time favourite would include Whitney Houston, Lana Del Rey, Celine Dion, Britney Spears and the list goes on...

I am a sucker for romance films; they make me tear real badly. My favourite would be A Walk To Remember, The Fault In Our Stars, Ghost etc. I do enjoy inspirational / fantasy movies and shows as well. (Avatar / LOTR / Harry Potter yeah you got me haha) We are best friends if you love Mean Girls ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to travel solo to somewhere far away from home.

Why so? Well, to many around here it might not seem that amazing but to me and where I came from, it is quite an uncommon thing to do as my friends and family are generally conservative and traditional when it comes to life. Most of my friends would prefer to travel with friends and travelling alone is a crazy and dangerous idea that no one would even think of.

When I decided to book the tickets and pack my bags to go solo in Sydney, most of my friends were really strongly against it and to be honest, I had my doubts too. All these years I have been living in the shelter of my home and family and I was really unsure if I was able to survive in somewhere foreign on my own.

After my trip, I came back with new experiences and memories and I was really glad that I made it and travelling alone at a young age made me more independent and knowledgeable; which I believe made me into someone better.

I would love to share stories and experiences from where I came from and the culture we have over here in Asia; maybe a little Chinese / Bahasa Indonesia if you are interested! I am open to discussing about everything actually.
