I consider myself a friendly outgoing person. I work lots and thoroughly enjoy my work as I help students to learn more about Literature, History, Politics and the Greco-Roman world.

I have Asperger’s syndrome and so tend to be good at memorising information. My passions are varied and include interests in most forms and periods of music. I am very much into Film and Television. I enjoy socialising and meeting new people.

I love cooking and world cuisine, my specialities include Italian and Jewish cuisines.

I was born in and grew up in London so I’ve always had a mix of friends from different places, cultures and religions.

Travelling in my greatest passion and so far I have been able to visit England, Scotland, Jersey, Ireland, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Malta, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, Israel, Nepal, USA and French Polynesia.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I’ve always enjoyed arranging my own trips ever since I was 18. At that time because of my Aspergers I felt quite shy and so thought a way to overcome that was to travel and meet new people. So at 18 I organised my first solo trip and went to Córdoba in Southern Spain for 4 weeks. It was a great experience. I immersed myself in the language and culture and made some nice friends whom I’m still friends with nine years down the line.

That trip opened my mind to travelling as much as possible. You can see above that I’ve already visited a number of places. From my trips around four years ago I started to use Airbnb and found it a great experience as living with local hosts is so much of a more enlightening experience than staying in a Hotel. I used Airbnb for all of my trips over the past few years. On my last trip I came across someone who has used Couchsurfing and they recommended that I give it a try. They have had many great experiences using it and said that it’s a great way of meeting a range of people.

I thought I’d give it a try and see how it goes.

I enjoy all genres of music although I particularly enjoy Jazz, Folk, Indie/Alternative and Hebrew (traditional and pop).

My favourite films tend to be 1920’s silent cinema, world cinema and of course British cinema.

I read lots of factual as well as fictional literature. Because of tutoring lots of the literature I tend to read with students is either from the Classical World or Modern English. I enjoy lots of poetry and particularly English Romantic poetry. I also enjoy Persian Literature and of course 1001 nights which is the richest middle eastern fiction text.

I’ve stayed at a Buddhist monastery in Nepal improving my understanding of drawing and painting in the Tibetan style.

As a Private Tutor I’m very open to discussions and debates on a number of impassioned subjects.

I find I’m always learning new things and it’s also great to share new discoveries with other people.

I’m knowledgable on a range of things and happy to discuss a number of topics. One thing in particular is I would be able to explain some of the elements of English culture that other nationalities often find unusual or peculiar. Plus as I enjoy cooking I would be happy to do some collaborative cooking or a fusion.
