About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love me, love my dog(s, and cat)!

ABOUT ME

I've been living in Albania since 1993, in a small village. I'm retired, so my time is my own, more or less.
At the moment I'm having about a fifth attempt to learn Arabic! And trying to emerge from a lifetime of chaos...
I have 2 large Albanian sheepdogs, whose education has been challenging for all 3 of us, and a cat who has at last seen the necessity to ward off loneliness by accepting the dogs' overtures of friendship...

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a Christian and try to live like it and keep growing.
I'm enjoying the challenge of seeking to help people, particularly women, who are not much respected in my neck of the woods, discover their potential and develop it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Prague during the Velvet Revolution we heard on the news that the secret police had been disbanded. For old times sake next morning I walked down the street where they had their headquarters, where several of my friends had been interrogated, and where I had to go to register as a visiting foreigner. To my surprise I saw I was being followed, by a man wearing the typical "uniform" of a black leather jacket. I thought: "Doesn't he know he's been disbanded?" and turned round and started following him - he disappeared pretty quickly!
