About Me

I'm an adventurous, sociable and friendly Scottish girl. I've been living and working in London for the last 15 years, firstly in Investment Banking and then in the charity sector after deciding on a career change. I'm currently travelling the world for a year. I've spent 5 months in Asia and am now heading to Canada, US and Central America.

I enjoy exploring cities and people watching, but my real enjoyment is in the outdoors - hiking, cycling or just exploring nature. I am a massive foodie, love to cook, love dancing Salsa and bachata and am also learning Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to experience the real local culture by getting to know local people rather than just hanging out with other backpackers all the time. I would also love the opportunity to practice my Spanish if you speak Spanish, but this is definitely not essential!

Interests

Well... I love food!! Cheese & chocolate are 2 of my favourite things. Hence one of my favourite places on my travels was a tiny little village called Salinas in Ecuador where they have both chocolate & cheese factories.... mmmmmm! Also i can make a chocolate mug cake in the microwave in 2 minutes!

I love adventure sports like snowboarding, skydiving, bungy jumping, hiking, snorkelling. I mountain biked the ´Death Highway´ in Bolivia. 2hrs downhill with a 200m cliff the entire way and hundreds of crosses where people have fallen off. Probably the craziest thing i´ve done.... other than going down an asbestos filled mine and blowing up dynamite.... but that was just stupid!

I enjoy going out to musicals, concerts, art exhibitions, festivals. I love cooking, especially Thai food. Ah... how did i get back to food again!!
